Dear Tea Enthusiasts,
The hot summer is coming around the world and Europe is set to experience record-breaking heat. Japan is no exception, but I would like to talk about how you should deal with tea to stay cool during such a summer.
Image of summer.
Summer! Cold tea! but in reality, too many cold drinks in summer can cause gastrointestinal dysfunction, coldness, indigestion and diarrhoea. In particular, drinking cold drinks all at once after sweating profusely can easily put a strain on the gastrointestinal tract, so care should be taken.
Tea contains caffeine, which can cause dehydration due to its diuretic effect if consumed in large quantities. However, it can be a good source of hydration if consumed in moderation. If you want to hydrate without worrying about caffeine, choose caffeine-free teas such as barley tea or rooibos tea.
It is important to consume caffeine in moderation and to be able to stay hydrated. Be aware that the more tea and coffee you drink, the more dehydrated you are and the healthier you will be over the summer.
Thank you for reading.
